January at OTL

Yesterday On the Leesh took part in NYC’s Entertainment Industry Expo at the Westin Hotel in Times Square. Billed as a way to get everyone involved in the various parts of the entertainment industry together, EIE was jam-packed with people. It seemed to be primarily actors (Telsey & Company were doing some casting sessions for some major musicals) but we also met a number of writers, designers, marketing people, and distributors. On the Leesh was an exhibitor so we could run some of our short films and web-series at our table. I don’t think I’ve ever said “we produce film, theater and web-series” more times in my life, but we had a great time and met some really interesting people.
Some updates on our projects: We’re screening our short film, “Denim” in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Thursday night. “For Belly” continues to make its way through post production and we’re in the midst of scheduling some additional shooting for the movie in the spring. On the Leesh’s work with terraNOVA Collective on Roger Bonair-Agard’s show, “Masquerade: calypso and home” went really well. Roger and terraNOVA were recently interviewed by BET regarding his contribution to Caribbean poetry. Our latest web-series, “The Sexually,” is still in pre-production but we’re tentatively start shooting in February. So far OTL is off to busy start!
Stay tuned!
