Denim's Wild Ride (Part 3): The Coney Screening

Why should I relay the successful screening about Denim’s Coney Island Film Festival screening when our clever writer/director of the film can speak in his own words. So… in the words of Mr. Jeff Lycett…
Hi, all.
yesterday was another successful screening of Denim. the coney island film festival was very welcoming. we were in a block of several very good short films, which made me feel honored to have been selected.
during the question and answer afterward they asked the various directors to talk about the inspiration for their film and share a favorite coney island memory. i spewed out my usual story regarding demin, “my friend, the producer, she’s a crazy person… i saw bruce in his underwear… i’m a dylan fan, but slowly converting… etc, etc.”
then, having never been to coney island, i stated the truth, “in my thirteen years of being in new york, this is the first time i’ve been out here.”
there was a disapproving grumble from the audience, which lead me to “boooo” myself. i then thanked the festival organizers for their acceptance of our film, as well as having the festival itself, otherwise i never would have made it out there. this won the audience over again.
and we all lived happily ever after.
talk soon, jeff
p.s. i’m making the arrangements to go up to williamstown at the end of october.
