Last night OTL had an amazing screening of Jeff Lycett’s short comedy, “Denim”. The screening was held at the Royal Oak Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Based on a true events, “Denim” humorously explores the great indignities people will go through to get laid. “Denim” includes an amazing cast: PJ DeBoy from John Cameron Mitchell’s “Shortbus,” Rob Devaney, star of “Redacted” and Sarah Ireland, who has appeared on such shows as “The Sopranos” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”

Yesterday On the Leesh took part in NYC’s Entertainment Industry Expo at the Westin Hotel in Times Square. Billed as a way to get everyone involved in the various parts of the entertainment industry together, EIE was jam-packed with people. It seemed to be primarily actors (Telsey & Company were doing some casting sessions for some major musicals) but we also met a number of writers, designers, marketing people, and distributors. On the Leesh was an exhibitor so we could run some of our short films and web-series at our table. I don’t think I’ve ever said “we produce film, theater and web-series” more times in my life, but we had a great time and met some really interesting people.
Some updates on our projects: We’re screening our short film, “Denim” in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Thursday night. “For Belly” continues to make its way through post production and we’re in the midst of scheduling some additional shooting for the movie in the spring. On the Leesh’s work with terraNOVA Collective on Roger Bonair-Agard’s show, “Masquerade: calypso and home” went really well. Roger and terraNOVA were recently interviewed by BET regarding his contribution to Caribbean poetry. Our latest web-series, “The Sexually,” is still in pre-production but we’re tentatively start shooting in February. So far OTL is off to busy start!
Stay tuned!

Hard to believe another one has passed us by, but looking at the projects and people we had a chance to work with, it’s clear that it’s been a very blessed year for the company. Here’s a quick recap of the year (in no particular order):
1. In the Can is released! Be sure to check out our hilarious new webseries available on our own website as well as various video sites in the online video world!
2. OTL and Lucie Tiberghien put the short film, “The Things We Know” into the festival circuit. We’ll keep you updated on when and where this beautiful and moving short will next be shown.
3. On the Leesh teams up with comedy writer/director Jeff Lycett to produce “Denim” a short comedy starring Rob Devaney, star of the upcoming Brian De Palma movie, “Redacted,” PJ DeBoy star of the John Cameron Mitchell’s “Shortbus,” and Sarah Ireland who has appeared in such television shows as “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” This movies asks the question: Have you ever wanted to get laid so bad you’d give up your favorite pair of jeans? Worse, have you ever wanted a piece of denim so bad you’d give up sex?
4. OTL works with Liz Tuccillo (writer: “Sex and the City,” “He’s Just Not That Into You”) on her short film, “The Pot.” This poignant short film is currently in post-production and stars such heavyweights as Dana Ivey (“Two Weeks Notice”, “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde”, “Broken English”), Heather Burns (“Miss Congeniality”, “Two Weeks Notice”, “Choke”), Brian Murray (“Another World,” “My Dog Tulip”) and Darren Pettie (“Mad Men”, “Gossip Girl”).
5. Round 2 of Canine Grooming Secrets Instructional videos. Yes, On the Leesh has worked again with the award winning dog groomers, Susan Zecco and Jay Scruggs to get more instructional dog grooming vidoes out there for both the professional and home groomer. We love these guys!
6. We produce our first feature, “For Belly” (working title)! With the help of a small but incredibly committed and hilarious crew, OTL wrapped it’s very first feature film and is currently working with editor, Ben Jurin and composer, Henry Hung to help us get this movie to film festivals everywhere! More to come about this one!
7. A Yorkshire Fairie Tale. We had the honor of producing the first NYC showcase run of award-winning playwright Thomas Diggs’s new play, A Yorkshire Fairie Tale. The play starred our very own Jessica Arinella and Matt Rashid as well as Susan Wands, Peter Russ and Paul de Cordova.
8. The In-Betweens of Holly Malone thrives! Check us out on blip.tv and crackle.com (where we’ve been featured a number of times on their sexy channel). We’re sexy and we love it!
We hope your year has been as filled with inspiring people and projects as ours has and thanks to everyone that we’ve worked with! We look forward to another successful and busy year! Here we come 2008!

The In-Betweens of Holly Malone was chosen out of over a hundred online applicants to be featured in the New York: Love Stories Pier Screening on September 24th. Episode 2: One in a Billion was posted about two months ago on the NewTeevee website. Since that time, it quickly became one of the most popular videos on the site and therefore chosen to be screened at the Pier. The videos chosen were based on popularity on the website. The audience response for this show has been wonderful. From the moment you enter the theater you are taken into the world of the beck in Yorkshire England. The overwhelming reaction when people walk into the theater is that this
is not a typical off-off Broadway production. The design of the show – from Diana’s sets, to Jessica’s costumes and Chris’s lights take it to another tier. Several people have asked whether the actors are actually British. The level of performance and talent all-around has allowed this wonderful play to rise to the top. On the Leesh was truly excited to work on this rare gem by Tom Diggs, but now that the show has been fully realized, our expectations have happily been exceeded. Be sure to check out this stand-out production as it won’t be around for long! For more information and tickets visit: A Yorkshire Fairie Tale

To the great fans of Holly Malone. Just a few hours after posting on the new site, Crackle.com – we were chosen as the Spotlight show for the Sexy Channel. Crackle breaks down their programming through channels, and Holly falls into Sexy. Philip will be so proud.
The InBetweens of Holly Malone
Not only is Crackle different because the production value of their shows is much higher, but what’s exciting to us is their passion for filmmakers. Turns out they’ll finance future seasons of web based series. What’s better than that? With a bigger budget, we can ensure better adventures for Holly and her friends, so check them out, and keep watching The In-Betweens of Holly Malone!

SYNOPSIS OF A YORKSHIRE FAIRIE TALE
A Yorkshire Fairie Tale is a coming-of-age story about Dulcie, a thirteen-year-old girl, who fakes photographs of fairies in order to save her relationship with her mother, which has been torn apart by the First World War.
With the help of Francis, an eccentric male friend, Dulcie manages to create a series of photographs that not only cheer up her mother, but also entertain a nation. Dulcie’s celebrity around the faked photos goes too far as her life becomes unbearable watching her mother go “round the bend.” Dulcie decides to stop all talk of fairies, betray her eccentric cohort, and give up her celebrity status in order to preserve what’s left of her family.
